CHALLENGES
Make Events were asked by Team GB to support in organising the 10th anniversary celebrations of the London 2012 Games. The City of London were the hosts of this event as it was held at the Guildhall London. We worked in a partnership all being respectful of each others’ roles to create the best experience for the athletes and HRH Princess Anne.
We had to manage royal protocol and security around Princess Anne as she was our keynote speaker and also wanted to be amongst the guests to chat to them individually. To create a branded experience that was sympathetic to the beauty and tradition of the Guildhall.
SOLUTIONS
We ensured we did regular face to face meetings to walk through the space and ensure the logistics and security measures would work. We felt in person meetings would not only strengthen the 3 way partnership but also ensure the entire team understood the footprint of the event. The team were all trained and briefed on royal protocol, dignitaries in attendance and all the athletes.
We designed light boxes of photographs that captured key moments of London 2012, we ensured these assets were reusable for sustainability. We designed a fully branded stage set with photographs in mind and which would enhance the video content created.
RETURN ON INVESTMENT
This was a chance for Team GB to restore face to face engagement with their key stakeholders, donators and supporters. It is of particular importance in the build up to Paris 2024.
