CHALLENGES
Sports Tours International approached Make Events to produce their 45th anniversary party and awards. They wanted to celebrate with their colleagues and create an event that demonstrates what’s so special about what they do.
SOLUTIONS
As a nod to one of company’s main offerings, we themed the whole evening by the different stages of a triathlon. The stage set for the evening had LED batons placed within the backdrop, this represented a journey with different destinations along it which lit up to show the stages of the evening. The menu was themed to a triathlon; starter was soup with a diving board dipping bread; the main was beef on a bike and dessert was titled ‘will run for chocolate.’
Our Venue Finding team pitched The Point at LCCC to host the event as it can be completely transformed. As delegates arrived at The Point, they were greeted by The Running Bee Choir and a blue carpet in their corporate colours and a projected logo. Living statues accompanied them on their journey to the drinks reception where they found lots of magic touches; bicycle wheel trays, branded drinks flags, company memorabilia and bespoke Cocktails.
Journalist, Louise Minchin hosted the event. She is a natural presenter and had just released a book, Dare to Tri about triathlons and had the ability to make the employees she was interviewing feel comfortable throughout the Q&A. Fred Done, Chairman of Sports Tours International, also spoke on the evening.
RETURN ON INVESTMENT
The client was blown away with their celebratory event and a great relationship was formed for future projects.
