How do you take a Christmas party for 250 people in Manchester, and create something totally unexpected and Wow-factor, without compromising the client’s iconic branding? You take the brief, you take the brand… and you make it out of this world. We produced a COSMIC CHRISTMAS event for our client Puma at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate hotel.
The event had been held at this venue 3 times before, so our challenge was to create something totally different – to surprise and delight the attendees, bring the WOW factor, but keep it the fantastic event experience it has always been.
We decided on a Cosmic Christmas theme, but the challenge was to make sure this didn’t become gimmicky and was ‘cool’ to reflect the brand. Whilst the event has had a few variations on the format over the years, for 2022 we reverted back to a sit down dinner and it was really important this didn’t feel ‘stuffy,’ boring, or too formal.
One more challenge – we were tasked with including a super creative entrance from the hosts from Puma to present their business update, with a twist!
Make Events designed the full creative for the event – from the event identity to bespoke 2m inflatable planets hanging from the ceiling, a bespoke rocket fuel branded bar, draping the entire space as well as flipping the room around to previous years which gave it the wow-factor different feeling.
We created an abstract spaceship stage set – with no gimmicks allowed! We levelled this up with incredible lighting and an entire wall made up of LED screen.
We worked with our client to produce and pre-record VT content with the Puma hosts, to create a narrative to set the scene for the event! This story continued, featuring ‘astronauts’ documenting their journey to get to the evening, into the event where the ‘reveal’ took place – the hosts appeared on stage all dressed up in the full space gear! We provided even more magic touches through entertainment; a 11-piece band, branded photo booth, and mix and mingle performers included techno spartans and laser performers.
The event of course had a themed menu, too!
