We transformed PUMA’s annual Christmas party into an out-of-this-world experience, delivering a Cosmic Christmas theme for 250 guests that reimagined a familiar venue and gave the brand’s iconic identity a bold new setting.

The Brief

PUMA needed their annual Christmas party, held for the third time at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, to feel completely new. The event had to surprise and delight a returning audience while staying true to PUMA’s iconic branding, without becoming gimmicky. After previous years explored different formats, this one called for a return to a seated dinner, one that stayed relaxed rather than stuffy or overly formal. The brief also called for a standout entrance from PUMA’s hosts, who needed to deliver a business update with genuine theatre behind it.

We developed a Cosmic Christmas concept built around bespoke event branding, 2m inflatable planets suspended from the ceiling, and a rocket fuel branded bar, with the room fully reconfigured to deliver an immediate sense of transformation. An abstract spaceship stage set, backed by an LED screen wall and considered lighting design, gave the space real impact without leaning on Christmas cliché.

To bring the hosts’ entrance to life, we produced VT content following PUMA’s leadership as “astronauts” on a journey to the event, building to a live reveal where the hosts appeared on stage in full space gear. An 11-piece band, branded photo booth, and roaming performers rounded out the entertainment, alongside a fully themed menu.

Make Events led creative direction and production end to end, from concept and event identity through to full theming, staging, lighting, AV, and entertainment booking. We worked closely with PUMA’s team to script and produce the VT content, coordinating the reveal moment with the live show to land the twist seamlessly for guests in the room.

Cosmic Christmas delivered the wow factor PUMA was looking for, giving a well established event a genuinely fresh identity without losing what guests already loved about it. The reworked room layout, bespoke staging, and content driven reveal combined to create a night that felt distinct from previous years, while the entertainment and theming kept the evening feeling celebratory rather than corporate.
