The Brief

Auto Trader’s annual all-employee conference needed to manage large-scale logistics for over 900 delegates across a multi-stage, multi-site day, while delivering complex technical production and ensuring a smooth delegate journey from day to night.

We brought to life a show-stopping conference experience anchored by a 30-metre LED screen on the main stage, used to deliver live-feed footage, high-impact visuals, and content created by our in-house team to inspire and energise the audience. Breakout sessions ran across two sites throughout the day, each expertly managed by our on-site team.

Make Events led creative direction and full-scale production across the event, from the technical build through to a standout live moment, the surprise arrival of a prize-winning Auto Trader vehicle on the main stage, handed over to one lucky delegate to drive home. As the day moved into evening, we transformed the entire space with new visuals, mood lighting, and entertainment, shifting the energy from inspiration to celebration, Auto Bot included.

Auto Trader’s conference was widely praised internally as the company’s best yet. We managed over 900 delegates across a multi-stage, multi-site experience with flawless technical execution, and the surprise car giveaway created a standout, sharable moment for attendees. The relationship has since gone from strength to strength, with next year’s event already in planning.
