Rwanda; a landlocked East African country with a green, mountainous landscape. It is the meeting hub of Africa and is renowned for its Volcanoes National Park which is home to mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, it is a perfect location for a conference, incentive or team building trip.
With increased air access and more international investment than ever before, Rwanda is a place where your delegates will have a truly unique experience.
Fly to its capital, Kigali, direct in just under nine hours from London, or Manchester and Birmingham with one stop in Amsterdam (which is a 13 hour flight).
Why Rwanda?
1. The Kigali Convention Centre holds up to 5,000 delegates and has a net floor area of 32,200 m2. The building contains facilities for business and leisure. โจโจOn site there is also a Radisson Blu Hotel, which has 292 plush rooms and suites to pamper your delegates. There is a total of 18 meeting rooms, which includes a state-of-the-art auditorium which can accommodate up to 2,000 attendees. โจโจFor your delegates who want to maintain their workout regime, try out their fitness centre and outdoor swimming pool.
2. It’s safe – Rwanda has very low crime rates.
3. Theyโre ahead of the Western world – In 2008, when the rest of the world was barely starting to consider taxing single-use plastic bags, Rwanda banned them completely. โจโจRwanda also tops the global league tables for the percentage of female parliamentarians, with almost 64% being female. (In 2014, it was reported that fewer than 22% of worldwide MPs are women.)
4. There are rumours of โOne & Onlyโ opening up a resort in its capital, Kigali.
Team Building Activity – A safari in Rwanda has you trekking through thick jungle on the lookout for troops of gorillas. Further your experience with a trip to Nyungwe Forest, where chimpanzees and monkeys are found.
There are also tours of Kigali that take you to the top of Mr. Kigali, with beautiful views of the city and countryside. You will also be shown the neighbourhood market, a Rwandan lunch and some of the โbest coffee around.โ
If youโre brave enough, stay at the recently opened Bisate Lodge, a luxury dwelling in the eroded crater of a volcano.
