Want to know what will be the new glitter of 2018? Fear not, Make Events have compiled a handy list of trends for you to be ahead of the curve for one of your next corporate events. You can thank us later.
1. Outside-in Trend
Bigger and brighter rooms with clusters of focus points will be the way forward. Whitewashed brick walls with spots of green are already all over Instagram, join the minimalist trend for one of your next corporate events and choose this over stuffy function rooms.
Try lavish plants with lots of greenery for centrepieces, wall hangings and decor. These can be re-planted and a great way to give back after the event.
2. Sustainability
Sustainability isn’t just about the environment and recycling. One of our core concepts is sourcing local; which includes entertainment and supplier selection, as well as food.
At Make Events, we are always on the lookout for unique stories to tell and sourcing local talent is something we took advantage of at our recent Vita Student events. The events crossed the country from Glasgow down to Southampton and we made sure to use local entertainment as part of the offering. Read the case study here.
Catering is one of the main priorities at corporate events and more often than not, there is waste leftover. Read our blog post about how to minimise waste at your next event.
3. Drone Footage
We’ve all seen epic videos of drone footage across vast landscapes and think they must’ve been shot on high-tech equipment that is well out of our budget. Think again, drones are getting smaller and more attainable, meaning their footage is a great post-event marketing tool to wow future guests.
4. Colour
It is important to know your demographic when selecting colours to ensure they’re in line with brand guidelines, but when you have free reign its ultra violet purple and pretty pink you should be looking towards. Millennial pink is a trend that popped up in the last half of 2017, and it isn’t going anywhere soon. Add subtly with navy to keep it more masculine or include in a minimalist space to soften it up a little.
Take a look at the images from a recent event of ours, where neon balls were used in a networking activity.
5. Break Out Spaces
Create interesting hubs for idea sharing with soft seating for your delegates. Comfort is a top priority, as your guests will dread the uncomfortable stiff seating that is expected at corporate events. This will alleviate the distraction of their numbing behind and focus more on what is happening in front of them.
Give your delegates an easy way to stay connected by having USB ports in your seating to allow your guests to power up.
